Spectra Precision Introduces the SP20 Handheld GNSS Receiver with Innovative Camera-Enabled Centimeter Logging

The SP20 provides state-of-the-art, high performance GNSS capabilities in a handheld form factor

Spectra Precision recently introduced its new SP20 handheld GNSS receiver at the Esri User Conference.

Rugged, lightweight and scalable, the SP20 offers an easy to-use solution, delivering the accuracy needed (meter to centimeter). With applications ranging from data collection to inspection and maintenance, the SP20 is truly a time saving tool for cadastral, construction or topo surveys as well as GIS projects.

An innovative camera-enabled workflow provides 2D handheld centimeter accuracy or 3D centimeter accuracy when used with a monopole setup. Using the 5.3” display screen, it is easy to efficiently collect both GIS and survey data. Depending on the projects, the SP20 can run the MobileMapper Field software for easy GIS data collection or Spectra Precision Survey Mobile (SPSM) for full-featured land survey jobs.

“Today, GIS and survey professionals are looking for tools that are easy-to-use, intuitive and field rugged, but also flexible and accurate enough to cover their respective requirements, from meter down to centimeter level in real-time” said Olivier Casabianca, general manager of Trimble’s Spectra Precision Division. “The SP20 is not only the right response to these needs, but also brings – in an Android user friendly environment – a set of innovations such as camera based leveling, with always our unique Z-Blade GNSS technology.”
